Tradesmen must insure or SORN their vehicles

The Government is cracking down on uninsured drivers in the UK.

Tradesmen who require a van to successfully carry out their business operations must ensure that any vehicles they own are 100% road legal, including any old vehicles that are not currently being used, before getting caught out by new laws.

The new law means that it is not only an offence to be caught driving whilst uninsured, but it is also an offence to be a keeper of an uninsured vehicle.

A new law, which took effect yesterday (Monday 20th June) requires anyone with an uninsured vehicle to either insure it or declare it SORN (Statutory Off Road Notification).

The new laws can assure sincere drivers that other road users are also legal and honest.

Official Government statistics show that there are an estimated 1.4 million people driving without insurance.

Who Can Apply For Georgia Title Loan

If you are a resident of Georgia and on the lookout for some immediate cash, then consider applying for Georgia title loan. These loans are not only easily available, but also extremely helpful. There are two most important things that you need to keep in mind prior to applying for these types of short term loans. Firstly, in comparison to traditional loans, these loans tend to charge the borrowers higher interest rates. Secondly, inability to pay back the loan amount on time can compel you to lose your favorite vehicle.

If you are thinking of applying for a Georgia title loan, then the first and foremost thing, which you need to have, is a personal car. It should be free from liens and its ownership should be in your name. As a proof of ownership, you need to submit all the important car documents to the lender during the loan application process. Choosing a name for your small business

When starting up a new business, one of the first things you need to do is choose a suitable name for your enterprise. It is worth spending time considering the name, since not only will this be the first thing potential customers see, but it will also be with you for the duration of your venture.

You will also need to abide by the various rules and restrictions imposed by company law when making your choice.

For example, your new company may initially be involved in software resale, but further down the line you may expand your product range beyond software, so try not to restrict your name to something which may either date or which may not reflect the nature of your business in the future.

Depending on the nature of your new business, you may want to present potential customers with a traditional sounding name (for example if you are providing professional services), or a technology or modern focused name if you are in the high-tech sector.

Also be careful if your business is selling overseas since your business name may not go down so well in translation if you’re not careful!

Extra considerations for limited companies

If you are going down the Limited Company route, you will need to register your new name with Companies House (or use an agent to do this for you). Y

Small businesses are without legal support

Research shows that many small businesses lack the necessary legal support to fully understand their commercial requirements..

It is vital that small businesses grasp the basics early on in order to minimise the risks of possible penalties or failure.

It was recently stated that 15% of small businesses have difficulty understanding the regulations they are required to follow, which has led to 100,000 companies being fined for breaches of rules.

A survey carried out by NatWest has revealed that 80% of new businesses do not have professional advice on matters that concern their commercial law requirements.

This not only causes difficulties with understanding the law, it makes it difficult to obtain the services and tools that will make trading and growth possible for businesses.

eBay sees boom in ‘m-commerce’ hindered by quality of mobile broadband in UK

Auction giant, eBay, predicts massive growth in mobile shopping over the next few years, however related research shows that potential growth is being hampered by unreliable mobile broadband availability.

eBay believes that mobile shopping could boost the UK economy by £4.5bn within four years, and by another £13bn by 2021, as consumers become more comfortable with using their handsets to buy online.

The internet giant has called on Ofcom to help improve the quality of mobile internet provision, as many customers experience patchy coverage, slow connection speeds, and unreliable connections.

Unsurprisingly, m-commerce as it has become known, is least successful in remote places such as the Scottish highlands, but it is also underperforming in some metropolitan areas due to poor mobile coverage.

Alongside the obvious reception problems experienced by mobile users, customers are also put off using mobile internet due to the cost of transferring data.

There are many benefits to embracing the inevitable move towards people and businesses using their mobiles to buy online, especially as smart phones are burst so spectacularly onto the market over the past few years. e

Small businesses see improved health

Insolvency rates among the UK’s small businesses have improved dramatically, new research revealed.

According to Experian’s latest Insolvency Index report, 0.1% of the entire active business community, which totals 1,808 businesses, became insolvent in April 2011. This was a slight decrease compared to the same period in 2010 when 1,818 businesses failed.

However, it has been highlighted that small businesses in Wales saw the majority of these positive results. Failures fell at a faster rate where small businesses with 3 – 5 employees saw 17% fewer closures. Busin
